Embedded Microcontrollers

Not all systems you will work with end up inside a desktop or laptop case. Many of them are designed to be “embedded” in other systems. These systems range from more mobile devices like tablets, to consumer products as simple as a thermostat! Modern life seems to need for our gadgets to be “smart”, and that means we need processing power everywhere. (Not to mention the trend to put every gadget on the Internet!)

In this section of the course, we will explore a popular processor used in many small systems. This one is not powerful enough to run Linux, but it still has impressive capabilities. The specific board we will explore is called the Arduino.
